Water Rescue

January 2, 2012 - The Fort Wayne fire Department responded to a report of a person in the river at the Wells Street Bridge near West Superior Street.  The first arriving engine found one male subject sitting on a log jam in the middle of the river.  The Fort Wayne Dive/Rescue Team was able to get to the victim and bring him to shore via their inflatable raft.  Care of the patient was then turned over to the paramedics.  The victim did not relay why he was in the river, but by his own account, he had been in the water for about 40 minutes.
