February 19, 2014 - A fire alarm alerted residents at Savana Springs Apartment complex of a fire.  When crews arrived, all occupants had self-evacuated the two story structure prior to the FWFD's arrival.  Firefighters discovered a fire had occurred in a bedroom of a 2nd floor apartment and was nearly extinguished from the activated sprinkler system in the room.  Although fire and smoke damage was minimal, both the involved apartment and an apartment below sustained water damage.  There were no injuries.  The fire's cause remains under investigation.
