July 1, 2014 -  The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3530 Kirkland Ave. Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home's roof area. Crews made entry and located heavy fire throughout the attic area of the house. Firefighters called for the insulation extractor and remain on scene to ensure all fire/hotspots are extinguished. The house is vacant and had a "for sale" sign in the yard. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  FWPD, Nipsco, AEP, Neighborhood Code and TRAA assisted at the scene.
