January 27, 2015 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported apartment fire after reports of smoke and flames visible.  Fire crews arrived and found flames coming from a third floor apartment of the three story building.  Additional crews were called to the scene as a precautionary measure due to the large number of apartments and residents in the building. Crews worked to evacuate the building and extinguish the blaze located in apartment 12-C.  No one was home in the involved apartment.  Two cats were rescued.  Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the fire apartment and place it under control in 16 minutes.  Minor smoke, fire and water damage was reported.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
