September 27, 2013 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 6060 Turtle Creek Drive Apartment 6060 within the Turtle Creek Apartment complex. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and fire showing from the first and second floors of that unit. Extra crews were called to scene due to the potential of fire spread and potential life hazards. Crews were able to contain the fire to the fire apartment and attic. The fire was under control in 30 minutes. All residents self-evacuated prior to the FWFD's arrival and no injuries were reported. The building sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage. The cause of the blaze was ruled as accidental cooking fire. Occupants displaced by the fire will be relocated to other apartments in the complex.
