Glenbrook Mall Fire

September 28, 2013 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire at Glenbrook Mall after receiving notification of the smell of smoke and fire alarms activated. On arrival crews found heavy smoke coming from a service hallway. After further investigation it was determined a storage room with multiple storage units was the source. The fire sprinkler system was activated in the area and kept the fire in check until firefighters arrived and were able to extend a line to extinguish the fire. Crews checked for extension and ventilated the area. The mall was evacuated during the incident as a proactive measure to protect the safety of the mall employees and patrons. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
