Old Scott's Building Fire

April 25, 2015 - Investigators are working to determine the cause of a reported explosion at 3109 Anthony Blvd. N. Calls received stated the "Old Scott's just blew up." Crews arrived on scene and found a portion of the building had experienced an event pushing the rear walls out and heavily damaging the roof of the structure. Initial reports indicate the area damaged was what appeared to be the back storage area of the building. While crews monitoring the area did not detect natural gas, Nipsco was called to the scene as a precaution. Nipsco confirmed the building has not had gas service since January. Additionally, AEP was called to the scene to cut power to the entire strip mall. Allen County Building Department and Neighborhood Code also made the scene. The cause of the incident remains under investigation. No injuries were reported.
