September 14, 2012 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to a possible structure fire at 3516 Congress. Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from the second floor of the two story structure. Firefighters made entry and were able to locate the fire in the basement of the house and quickly extinguish it. While the fire did not extend outside the basement, the entire house did sustain extensive smoke and water damage. One resident was home at the time of the fire but self-evacuated prior to FWFD's arrival. They were transported to a local hospital with burns. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
