July 28, 2013 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire in the 6400 block of High Point Dr. Upon arrival crews found fire and smoke coming from the rear of the home extending into the attic areas of the structure. Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack on the fire and were able to control the spread after 25 minutes. One neighboring house suffered minor damage due to the heat from the fire. Three firefighters were taken to a local hospital in good condition after a ceiling collapsed on them. No injuries to the home's four occupants were reported. They were able to self-evacuate prior to the FWFD's arrival. The structure sustained heavy smoke and fire damage. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation. FWPD, TRAA, AEP and Nipsco assisted on scene.
