September 9, 2013 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire just after 6 a.m. this morning. First arriving firefighters reported fire was showing from 501 W. Fourth Street with extension to a second home at 505 W. Fourth St. With additional homes in close proximity to each other, crews were able to minimize the spread and contain the fire to the two homes. Crews were able to determine both houses to be vacant and no injuries were reported. The fire was placed under control after 48 minutes. The home located at 501 W. Fourth Street sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage. The structure at 505 W. Fourth Street sustained moderate damage. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
