October 4, 2013 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a report of smoke in the area around the 7000 block of Pointe Inverness Way. Crews arrived on scene and while investigating the report found fire in the first floor apartment at 7019 Pointe Inverness Way with extension to the second floor apartment above the fire unit. Crews forced entry and determined on one was home in either apartment and worked to evacuate the rest of the building. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and place it under control in 40 minutes. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. While much damage was contained to the two apartments, a total of eight apartments were affected by the fire displacing 17 residents. The apartment complex's management team was assisting those in need.
