March 20, 2014 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported house fire in the 2500 block of Wildcat Cove.  Arriving crews found smoke coming from the basement of the two story home.  The home's occupant was already outside but did advise there was still a dog unaccounted for.  Firefighters quickly made entry, located the fire and extinguished it quickly.  Crews were also able to locate the dog unharmed and return it to the owner.  Investigators determined the home's owner was spray painting in the basement when the water heater kicked on and ignited the fumes.  No injuries were reported.  The structure sustained minor fire and water damage and moderate smoke damage.  FWPD and TRAA assisted at the scene.
