September 8, 2014 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a possible gas line cut in the 900 block of Webster between Wayne and Berry. On arrival firefighters were notified construction crews working in the area struck a 2' gas line and the odor of gas was evident. Fire Crews evacuated 229 Berry and the surrounding construction site as a precautionary measure. Fire crews entered neighboring structures and continued to meter the area determining no further evacuations were necessary. Nipsco quickly made the scene and crews were able to locate the shut off valve and mitigate the leak.
