April 14, 2014 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 2200 block of Crescent Ave. after neighbors noticed black smoke coming from the home and called 911.  Firefighters arrived on scene and aggressively attacked the fire in the southwest corner of the two story home to extinguish it.  There was some extension and crews overhauled the area to ensure all fire was out.  No one was home at the time of the fire, but two cats and two dogs were evacuated; the cats perished.  The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.  The structure sustained moderate fire, water and smoke damage.
