November 26, 2014 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 3300 block of Cheviot Dr. Upon arrival crews found smoke and flames visible from the first floor of the two story apartment building. Crews made entry and located the fire in a first floor apartment's kitchen area with extension into the apartment above. Firefighters used an aggressive interior attack on both floors to contain the blaze and to ensure all extension was extinguished. The fire apartment sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage. The 2nd floor apartment sustained heavy smoke and moderate fire and water damage. The Red Cross was called to assist the occupants of both apartments. Neither were home at the time of the blaze. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
