March 4, 2015 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 2602 Coliseum Blvd. S. Upon arrival crews found heavy smoke and flames coming from the two story building. Because of the level of fire involvement and size of the structure additional rigs were requested. Firefighters were able to make entry inside but were called out due to deteriorating conditions. Crews fought the fire defensively and were able to place it under control after 58 min. No one was inside the building at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported. The structure sustained heavy damage. The cause remains under investigation. Both Pontiac St. and Coliseum S. were closed during the incident but were reopened approximately two hours later. The FWPD, TRAA, Communications and AEP assisted at the scene.
