Fox Point Trail Fire

February 9, 2012 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to an apartment fire at 1915 Fox Point Trail.  Upon arrival crews found smoke coming from a second story apartment.  After entry, fire crews found smoke in the common stairwell and fire in apartment A.  Crews began an offensive fire attack and began their primary search.  One victim was found in the fire apartment.  The patient was quickly evacuated and transported to the hospital in critical condition. The patient's condition has since been upgraded to serious.   The fire was contained and its extension was limited.  The cause of the fire was accidental in nature and was the result of unattended food on the stove.  No working smoke alarm was detected at the time of the fire.
