November 27, 2013 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a reported apartment fire at the Twin Oaks apartment complex. First arriving crews found heavy smoke coming from a first floor apartment of the two story structure. Crews evacuated the entire building. As firefighters worked to extinguish the fire they determined it had spread to a second floor apartment through a void space. Crews were able to control the blaze in 21 minutes. The structure sustained moderate fire and smoke damage and heavy water damage as the result of a broken water line. One of 12 occupants evacuated was treated at the scene for smoke related injuries. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
