October 1, 2014 - The Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a possible structure fire at 5716 Kelso Lane. On arrival crews found smoke and flames coming from the mobile home. Crews made entry through the front door and immediately began searching the home while others worked to contain and extinguish the fire. One subject was found in a back bedroom. The patient was evacuated outside and FWFD personnel provided medical assistance until TRAA arrived and took over patient care. The subject was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. A dog was also inside the home, but escaped while crews worked the fire. FWPD, Animal Control, TRAA, Neighborhood Code, AEP and Nipsco assisted at the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
