April 13, 2015 - Fort Wayne Firefighters quickly extinguished a kitchen fire found at a residence in the 3700 block of South Wayne Ave.  Unattended cooking ignited the blaze and it resulted in heavy damage to the home's kitchen with heavy smoke throughout the house.  A teenage occupant was able to safely evacuate the structure prior to FWFD's arrival.  Firefighters were able to rescue two cats.  No injuries were reported.
