November 14, 2015 - The Fort Wayne Fire Dept. responded to a reported apartment fire in the 900 block of Oaklawn Ct. Upon arrival firefighters found fire in an upstairs bedroom. The first fire units arrived in 3 minutes and made an aggressive interior attack on the fire. The fire extended into the attic area of the apartment and caused some damage to the attic area and bedrooms of the apartment next door, the residence of that apartment self-evacuated as the fire dept. arrived. This fire was placed under control in 23 minutes with lots of overhaul to do. There was heavy fire damage to the bedroom in main apartment with moderate water and smoke damage though out. The next door apartment had moderate fire, water, smoke damage mostly upstairs. No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation.
