2700 Alexander St. House Fire

July 5, 2016 - Fort Wayne Fire Department responded to a house fire with multiple calls. On arrival they found flames through the roof and a fully involved attic fire in a one-story home in the 2700 block of Alexander St. The house next door had siding that was starting to melt as crews initially began to flow water; that house was saved with no additional damage. The roof was burned off before the fire was placed under control. Extensive overhaul was required to totally extinguish the fire but the building had sustained substantial damage. The FWFD was assisted by FWPD, TRAA, AEP, The FT Wayne Water Dept. and NCE. The fire remains under investigation.
