September 11, 2016 - The Fort Wayne Fire Dept. responded to a reported house fire in the 6700 block of Winnebago Dr. On arrival firefighters found a two story wood frame house with smoke coming out of the garage. The first unit arrived on the scene in about four minutes. They found a resident outside he stated that everyone was out and the fire was in the dryer. He also stated that he tried to put the fire out with a garden hose before he called fire dept. Crews made an interior fire attack and had the fire under control in about 10 minutes. There was minor fire and water damage with moderate smoke damage. No injuries were reported and this fire remains under investigation. Assisting at the scene was FWPD TRAA NIPSCO NEC. Red Cross was not needed at the time of this report.
