September 20, 2016 - FWFD responded to a report of smoke coming from a residence on W. Dewald. Crews arrived to find moderate smoke coming from a home in the 600 block of W. Dewald. Firefighters initiated an offensive interior attack and quickly extinguished a fire in the kitchen at the rear of the first floor. A small dog was rescued from the house and placed in custody of Animal Care and Control. No one was home at the time of the incident and there were no injuries to firefighters. FWFD received assistance from FWPD, Neighborhood Code, Nipsco, and TRAA.
